Setting computer-specific synchronization properties
Before setting computer-specific synchronization properties in Password Synchronization, edit the sso.conf file on the UNIX-based computer to specify the same settings. For information about assigning computer-specific settings in the sso.conf file, see Use sso.conf to configure Password Synchronization on UNIX-based computers.
|To set computer-specific synchronization properties|
Open the Identity Management for UNIX management console by clicking Start, pointing to Administrative Tools, and then clicking Microsoft Identity Management for UNIX.
You can also open the Identity Management for UNIX management console from within Server Manager, by expanding Roles and then Active Directory Domain Services in the hierarchy pane, and then selecting Microsoft Identity Management for UNIX.
If necessary, connect to the computer you want to manage by using the procedure in Connect to another computer you want to manage.
In the hierarchy pane, under the Password Synchronization node, click UNIX Computers.
In the results pane, select the UNIX-based computer for which you want to configure properties.
With the computer selected in the results pane, do one of the following:
Right-click the computer, and then click Properties.
Click Properties in the Actions pane.
On the Action menu, click Properties.
- Right-click the computer, and then click Properties.
On the Properties dialog box for the computer, select the direction of synchronization you want.
If necessary, modify the existing password encryption key for the computer, or generate a new key.
If necessary, specify a different port number that the computer monitors for password changes.
The default port number is 6677.
Click OK when your changes are complete.
