You can use this procedure to stop managing an RD Gateway server. To specify a different RD Gateway server to manage (or to manage the same RD Gateway server again at a later time), see Specify a Remote Desktop Gateway Server to Manage.

Membership in the local Administrators group, or equivalent, on the RD Gateway server that you plan to configure, is the minimum required to complete this procedure. Review details about using the appropriate accounts and group memberships at https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=83477.

To disable management for a Remote Desktop Gateway server
  1. On the RD Gateway server, open Remote Desktop Gateway Manager. To open Remote Desktop Gateway Manager, click Start, point to Administrative Tools, point to Remote Desktop Services, and then click Remote Desktop Gateway Manager.

  2. In the Remote Desktop Gateway Manager console tree, click to select the node that represents the RD Gateway server for which you want to disable management.

  3. Right-click the RD Gateway server, and then click Do not manage this server.

  4. A message will appear, prompting you to confirm whether you want to stop managing the specified RD Gateway server. To confirm, click Yes.
