Prohibiting all Web service extensions from running on your Web server will cause applications to lose functionality or quit working altogether. Internet Information Services (IIS) will be able to serve only static content. If you are uncertain how prohibiting Web service extensions will impact your applications, click each Web service extension individually and note the list of dependent applications in the Used by list on the General tab.

Note

IIS might not detect all applications that depend on particular Web service extensions to run. If you prohibit all Web service extensions, other applications (not listed on the General tab) might stop working.
