Users can access RemoteApp and Desktop Connection from a Web browser by connecting to a Remote Desktop Web Access (RD Web Access) Web site. To access RemoteApp and Desktop Connection from a Web browser, the client must be using at least Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) 6.1 and at least Internet Explorer 6.
By default, you can access an RD Web Access Web site at https://servername/rdweb, where server_name is the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of the Web server where you installed RD Web Access.
After the user connects to an RD Web Access Web site and provides the appropriate credentials, the user sees the resources available through RemoteApp and Desktop Connection, which can include any or all of the following:
- RemoteApp programs and desktop icons from RemoteApp sources, if RemoteApp sources have been specified in the Remote Desktop Connection Manager tool.
- An icon that represents a personal virtual desktop, if the user has been assigned a personal virtual desktop. For more information about personal virtual desktops, see About Personal Virtual Desktops.
- An icon that represents a virtual desktop pool, if a virtual desktop pool has been configured in the Remote Desktop Connection Manager tool. There can be multiple icons of this type, each one representing a different virtual desktop pool. For more information about virtual desktop pools, see About Virtual Desktop Pools.
