Use the Specify Application Connection Details wizard page to specify the application to which you want to connect in IIS Manager. The server administrator should give you the information that you must have in order to connect to the application.
If you receive an error when you try to connect to the server, check for the following possible issues:
- You mistyped a value, such as the server name or user credentials.
- The Web server to which you are connecting is not running IIS. You cannot use IIS Manager in IIS to connect to a Web server that runs a previous version of IIS.
- The management service is not started on the Web server.
- A Firewall rule is preventing the connection.
